Visit to Staunton Country Park
The children in Year 4 have visited Staunton Country Park to compare the local area for the park to our local area. They also observed the park’s environment for their science topic.
Visit to Southsea
Year 5 visited Southsea in order to sketch South Parade Pier. They are then going to use this sketch and their understanding of the Fauvism group techniques, in order to create a piece of art with fierce brushwork and strong colours.
Girls’ Football Match
The girls’ football team returned to Barncroft in order to play a friendly. It was a great opportunity to play in their new kits. The first half was very close, with both teams having shots on target. All of the girls, from both sides, tried their hardest in order to be their best. Portsdown were able to come away with a well deserved victory.
Dance Club’s performances to parents and the school.
Portsdown’s Dance Club had a very busy day performing 3 times in a single day: twice to the school and then to their families! They all did brilliantly and made the school proud. Well done to you all!
Year 1’s dance performance
Year 1 performed the dance they have been learning in PE to the parents. They were fantastic. A big thank you to the Young Sports Leaders who supported the children to learn the dance.
Year 2’s Parfait
We enjoyed designing, making and evaluating our fruit parfaits. We learnt about food hygiene, chopping, peeling and mixing.
Year 2’s visit to the greengrocer for their DT project.
Year 2 had an enjoyable visit to our local greengrocers to buy the fruit they need to make parfaits. They bought pineapples, strawberries, mangoes and other tasty fruit. Our Year 2’s were very sensible walking there and showing respect to others.
Nursery’s visit to QA Hospital.
The nursery visited QA Hospital and even met the support dogs! They also had visits to the nursery from the police and a paramedic! Thank you to the kind and supportive staff in the police force and the NHS.
A flying visit to the school!
